Sung to the tune of "Cattle Call" as made famous by Eddie Arnold.
"Meow, meow, etc." part is cat yodeling. Or meowdeling.
I'm so unhappy
I lost my gray tabby
I sit by myself and bawl
She's out there alone
So far from her home
I hope maybe my cat'll call
Meow, meow, etc.
Hoping my cat'll call
She was last seen
Through a hole in the screen
Jumping over the backyard wall
I hope she's okay
Still I listen each day
Hoping my cat'll call
Meow, meow, etc.
Hoping my cat'll call
It's been nearly a year
Since kitty was here
On my bed in a happy sprawl
She took off with some tom
But I'll remain calm
And hope that my cat'll call
Meow, meow, etc.
